Dr. Pressley graduated with honors from University of Nevada Las Vegas in 1996 where she received her Bachelor of Science in Integrative and Organismal Biology with a minor in Chemistry. Dr. Pressley was very active during her undergraduate career. She was Vice-President of the Student Chemical Society and Secretary of the Association of Pre-Health Professionals from 1994-1996. She was on the Dean's honor list every semester of her undergraduate career and was a member of the Golden Key National Honor Society from 1993-1996. In 1996 she was the Recipient of the Department of Energy Research Scholarship and was also honored as the Student Marshall for the College of Science and Mathematics. Dr. Pressley was a research assistant under Dr. Dawn Neuman for the horticulture and plant biology department and also performed undergraduate research studies under Dr. Herman Lehman in the neurobiology laboratory.
She continued her education at the University of Houston College of Optometry receiving her Doctorate in Optometry in 2001. While at the University of Houston, Dr. Pressley received Letters of Excellence in Clinical Achievement in Summer 1999, Fall 1999 and again in Summer 2000. She was also awarded the Exemplary Performance Clinical Letter in Summer 2000 from Dean Gerald Strickland, OD, PhD and from Nicky Holdeman, MD, PhD. In 1999 Dr. Pressley was the Recipient of the W.J. Khulman Scholarship. During her time at the University of Houston, Dr. Pressley was a research assistant under Professor JPG Bergmanson and the Texas Eye Research and Technology Center where she was a contributing editor for the textbook
After completing her four years of Optometry school Dr. Pressley continued her education by completing a residency, through Pacific University, in Ocular Disease, Refractive and Ocular Surgery. Her residency began in Reno Nevada at Eye Care Associates of Nevada training under Dr. Paul Hiss, MD and Dr. Robert Wolff, MD. She completed the second half of her residency at Eye Care Associates of Nevada's Las Vegas Clinic where she was trained under Dr. Helga Pizio, MD. During her residency Dr. Pressley received advanced training in ocular disease and therapeutics, ocular surgery including cataract and glaucoma surgeries, laser treatments, anterior segment surgeries, trauma and refractive procedures including LASIK, PRK, LTK and intact corneal rings.
